Parent Group

With the announcement of the $6.7 million dollars from the Ministry to rebuild most of the school, the Parent Group can now focus on fundraising for the items that the Ministry don't fund.  The Ministry do not fund for playgrounds and this will become the Parent Groups primary focus while also ensuring that we continue to spend money on the children who are currently here.  The Parent Group will continue to subsidies field trips and the Chatbus for $10,000.

Parent Group

The Parent Group is a group of parents who foster a link between families/whanau and the school, organise social activities and raise funds to help improve school facilities and provide our children with the “extras” not supplied by the Ministry of Education.

The Parents Group is run by a Committee and meets 1-2 times each term. Details about meetings are included in school newsletters and all are welcome to come along and get involved.

The Parent Group has raised $35,000 in 2018 from the fair and purchased the following items for 2019 and are well on their way of raising $60,000 for the playground

  • Chatbus counseling service
  • Subsidised EOTC trips
