Cultural
At Kaikorai Primary, we nurture well-rounded tamariki through a vibrant cultural programme that celebrates creativity, performance, and connection.
Students have the opportunity to explore their musical talents by learning instruments such as guitar, ukulele, and marimba, as well as joining our dynamic orchestra, choir, and drama club. We encourage them to express themselves and build confidence through performance. Every two years, all students take part in a full-scale school production at the Regent Theatre – an unforgettable experience that showcases their talents on a professional stage.
Our Kapa Haka programme, led by Whaea Ana and Manawa Enterprises, provides students with expert tuition in karakia, waiata, and the rich history of the Kaikorai area. Our Kapa Haka Rōopū proudly represent Kaikorai at the Otago Polyfest, celebrating Māori culture through performance and community.
