Kaikorai Kiwis and School Visits

Once your child’s enrolment is confirmed, we will invite them to participate in our transition programmes. These sessions are designed to help your child feel comfortable, confident, and excited about their first day.

Kaik Kiwis: Pre-school Transition ⭐️

Kaik Kiwis is our specialised programme held during the term before your child starts school. It is a wonderful way for children to settle into the school environment.

  • When: Every second Wednesday (during term time).

  • Time: 1:55 pm – 3:00 pm.

  • What to expect:

    • Meeting future classmates and making new friends.

    • Fun activities including art, singing, games, and storytime.

    • Exploring the school grounds to build familiarity.

School Visits 🍎

In addition to Kaik Kiwis, children participate in formal school visits during the three Fridays immediately leading up to their start date. These visits allow your child to experience the morning routine of a standard school day.

  • When: The 3 Fridays before your child’s first official day.

  • Time: 8:55 am – 11:00 am.

A Note for Parents and Caregivers ✏️

We want the transition to school to be a positive experience for both you and your child. Here is how we manage the sessions:

  • For Kaik Kiwis (Wednesdays): We encourage you to stay for the first session to help your child settle in. As they become more confident, you are welcome to "drop and go".

  • For Friday School Visits: These visits are designed to mimic a real school day. We suggest a quick, confident goodbye at the classroom door at 8:55 am. This helps your child build independence and bond with their teacher and peers.

If your child is feeling anxious: Please don't worry! Our teachers are highly experienced in settling new students. If your child is particularly upset, we will work with you to find the best way to support them, which may involve you staying a little longer for the first few visits.
