Week 4 Principal's news

Weather-related closures and late starts ❄

I appreciate your support with the late start that occurred yesterday. While many of our children can walk safely to school, I also need to factor in 30 staff living all around Dunedin and how safe it is for them to get to work. As I mentioned last week, the messages are sent in a newsletter, SeeSaw, and a Facebook post is made.

Winter illnesses 😷

We have been hit hard at Kaikorai this week with, on average, 70 students away daily with flu-like symptoms. Let's hope we see an improvement in the coming weeks and thank you for keeping your children home when they have been poorly.

Student teachers ✏

We welcome Zoe, Hannah, Jono and Grace to Kaikorai for the remainder of the term. These Masters of Teaching and Learning Students are a welcome addition to our school and are excited to learn from our experienced teachers.

Road Patrol πŸ›‘

We are desperately short of parent helpers to help with our Wright Street crossing before and after school. We have no road patrol helpers at all on the mornings of Week 6 - Week 8- Week 9 - Week 10 - Can you help? We also need helpers in the afternoon. Please let me know or email roadpatrol@kaikorai.school.nz

2024 enrolments πŸ“˜

We are finalising enrolments for 2024. If you know of anyone in our community who intends to be a Kaik Kid next year but has not enrolled, please let me know asap.
