New building update

You may have noticed caution tape around the pathway from the green room to the steps. A temporary fire egress has been erected for some of the middle classes as the current fire escape will be decommissioned shortly in order for the new admin block. The hoardings are up and as of Monday the front field, driveway and pathway from the driveway are out of bounds to all children. We are on track for R3, 5, 6A to move into their new rooms at the start of Term 2. The next stage will also involve the demolition of the middle syndicate block.  I will let you know when I have a schedule for this.

School hats 🧢

These are back in stock - thank you for your patience while we awaited the delivery of the order. Please see Sharon in the office if you need to purchase a new one.

Covid 19

Numerous parents have asked whether we will be notifying families about new covid-19 cases in their child's class. Guidelines from MOE is that we do what works for our community. We have taken on feedback from the community, discussed it at a senior leadership level and have decided that going forward your child's teacher will notify you via SeeSaw private message if there are new cases in your child's class. There has been 1 new case this week (we were notified today 4/3/22).

Please continue to be vigilant with monitoring symptoms regardless of whether there is a case in your child's class or not.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Teacher only day

Tuesday 22nd March (the day after Otago Anniversary Day) is the day set aside for PBL professional development for staff. Kelly Club is open for the day should you wish to book your child in. School is closed for instruction on that day.

Parent interviews

We had an excellent turnout on-screen or down the line for our parent interviews. I really hope we can welcome you on the school grounds to have a look in and around your child's class soon. Thank you for joining in on the interviews, discussing your child's learning goals and strengthening the home school partnership that is pivotal for your child's growth.

Walk and wheels week

Next week is walk and wheel week - aka, active transport to school week. It would be great to get everyone on board for this. For more details about the daily events and dress-up days, click here
