Kaikorai Primary School Read-A-Thon

Kaikorai Primary School Read-A-Thon

We’re excited to announce that Kaikorai Primary will be hosting a Read-a-thon this term — a fun and meaningful way to inspire a love of reading!

A Read-a-thon is a great way to encourage a love of reading while building positive reading habits. It helps strengthen literacy skills, boosts confidence, and gives students a goal to work towards — all while raising funds to support our school’s literacy resources. The funds raised will go directly towards new library books and classroom reading resources.

Throughout the Read-a-thon, students will be seeking sponsorship for their reading efforts. On Monday, 18th August, students will bring home a sponsorship form. Each child will choose a reading goal — either a set amount of time to read each night or a number of books to read each night — and will collect sponsors to support their commitment.

Sponsorship collection will run from Monday, 18th August to Monday, 1st September.

The reading challenge itself will take place from September 1st to September 5th, where students will work to achieve the reading goal they set for themselves.

There will be spot prizes for individuals who return their sponsorship forms, as well as a class prize for the group with the highest number of forms returned.

Keep an eye out for more information coming home on Monday, 18th August, along with your child's sponsorship card.
