End of Term 1 news

Today was a very special celebration. We awarded the Toby Robins KAIK award. This award goes to a child that displays our values constantly and consistently just as Toby did. Displaying exceptional manners, leadership, showing perseverance and resilience, caring for others and being a role model are some of the attributes the winner (Theo) and the nominees display all the time.

Congratulations to ~

Oliver, Lucile, Lucy, Avery, Clarissa, Alana, Theo, Rosie, Anabel, Tahito and  Mavis for being recognised as awesome Kaik Kids! We are proud of you.

Read about wellbeing week here - what a fantastic week we have had really zooming in on our wellbeing and what this means for us. Thank you to Mrs. Ferguson for this special week.

We are thrilled to be able to open the new classes for the start of Term 2. Mrs McBeath, Mrs Kumar, Miss Kinnaird and Miss Ward will be moving into these new spaces to start the term. The hall, green room, kitchen and other areas will be opened later in the term.

Next term we are looking forward to welcoming Miss Gold to Rūma whitu, school-wide Matariki celebrations 🌟 a visit from the Life Education bus and of course Harold 🦒, winter sports, and focusing on our environment and sustainability using Papatūānuku Breathes as a starting point for our PBL. As always, we welcome and encourage your support and expertise, please reach out if you can help.

Can I please ask, if you look at the mountain of unnamed and unclaimed lost property that is destined for the charity shop this holidays, please spend 30 minutes in the holidays naming your child's sweaters or if they are old enough to, they can do it themselves. 👕

I hope the amazing Kaikorai staff have a really well deserved and restful break. Many have returned after having covid this term which has been difficult on energy levels, staff have driven over town to drop off learning packs, and they have gone above and beyond to make the term a successful one. Thank you ⭐

Many of our Kaikorai families are heading overseas and away to reconnect with whānau, you are all in my thoughts during this time and I wish you all safe travels. To the many families who still have covid in their household and are spending Easter isolating, you too are in my thoughts, please reach out if we can be of any help and we wish you good health.

We will be in touch in the holiday break to discuss the changes to the orange traffic light phase and what this means for Kaikorai School .
