Tiny Teddies  🧸

This year The Little Miracles Trust have teamed up with 'Dunedin's Golden Centre Mall and The Felt Princess to create an interactive event 500 Tiny Teddies, where we have asked crafty locals to make teddy bears, each of which will be donated to a Dunedin NICU baby.

Setting the stage for this celebration, Dunedin's Golden Centre Mall is hosting a Family Fun Weekend (10 am to 2 pm) on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th August. All activities are FREE and we would love kids to join us in a wonderful Teddy Bear picnic setting.

Activities include a treasure hunt, face painting and a free cookie from the Venturi Cafe. Southern COSPLAY Characters will be available for photoshoot opportunities on Saturday (for kids both small and adult sized!) and they are kindly collecting coin donations for The Trust. Julie Fawcett, author of the Angel-Louise & Friends series, will also join us for storytelling and has (limited) copies of her book to give away.

It's also not too late to give it a go - why not knit or crochet a bear or animal? (For safety reasons, please note that bears should not contain any items that can inadvertently come loose or be removed, such as eyes, ribbons or buttons on clothing. Size: 15-35cm). The new closing date for donations is 11th August, and these can be handed in at The Felt Princess (Centre City Mall) or at Untouched World outlet store in the Golden Centre Mall.

The crafted bears will naturally be the stars of the show at the Teddy Bear's Picnic!
