Kapahaka with Whaea Ana

Kapahaka with Whaea Ana

We were very excited to begin our kapa haka sessions again with Whaea Ana today! Our whole Pīwakawaka team attended from 11:00–11:30am, followed by 140 children from our middle and senior classes from 11:30–12:30pm.

Over the first two weeks, tamariki will experience what it’s like to be part of a kapa haka group. They will learn new waiata and actions, take part in karakia, and listen to stories that help them connect with te ao Māori and the tikanga behind kapa haka. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our children to build confidence, teamwork, and cultural understanding.
