Polyfest 🎶

As we prepare for our annual Polyfest performance, let's remember the purpose behind it. It's so important for our children to learn our school's waiata, to understand tikanga, and to be immersed in Te Ao Māori. Being part of this kaupapa is a powerful experience.

I am incredibly proud of our students who will be on stage, especially those stepping outside their comfort zones—that's where the magic happens. This is the first time in a long time that our entire Pīwakawaka Hapori will be performing together, and I truly cannot wait.

If you are planning to attend, please be prepared. Parking is likely to be very difficult, so give yourself plenty of time to find a spot, or consider carpooling. Please remember that you will not be allowed to enter during a performance.

School Board Elections 🗳️

This is a reminder that voting is currently open for the election of 5 parent representatives to the Kaikorai School Board.

Election Pilot is running our school board elections. Up to this point, we have only received 28.08% of the parent role votes. If you have not received any voting information from Election Pilot, please let the office know as soon as possible.

If you have received communication from Election Pilot but need the voting link resent, please notify us.

It is vitally important that our community have their say in voting on who they feel would best fill the five parent representatives to the Kaikorai School Board.

Voting closes on September 10, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.

Voting results will be released six days after Election Day, and the new board will take office seven days after Election Day.

Read-a-thon 📚

Next week, we're kicking off our Read-a-thon! We're so excited to celebrate all things books and reading.

If the weather cooperates this Friday, we'll be holding a whole-school reading session outside in the sun. It's a great opportunity for us to share our love of books with each other.

Please be assured that all funds raised will be directed directly to literacy resources and books. We will share our purchases with you when the time comes!

Ngā mihi maioha.
