Week 1 news
We have had a great first week of term 2. It is great to see our 'Kaik Kiwis' graduate to' Kaik Kids' and become part of our community. The newest members of our school have settled in so well, and it is fabulous to see our children going out of their way to make them feel welcome.
Property news 🦺
Rūma tekau mā toru (Room 13) is receiving a long-awaited upgrade, keeping it in line with the rest of our beautiful school. Not only will heating, lighting, and wall coverings be upgraded, but the most exciting part is the outdoor learning environment that is being developed. If you have been behind R13 lately, you will notice that it is very tired and not at all inviting. We have worked alongside designers to create a turfed area for the newest Kaik Kids where they can learn and play with new outdoor macrocarpa seating and tables, a mud kitchen, outdoor whare, and new fencing and gates. I really look forward to sharing the progress of this project with you in the coming weeks.
Room 13 will operate from Room 1 for the duration of the project.
Staffing news 🏫
We welcome Miss Immy Youngs to Kaikorai, beginning in Room 13 in week 4 while Miss Dunn is on travel leave. We are excited to have Immy join the Pīwakawaka team in a few weeks.
Lunch online 🍣
This is a reminder that lunch orders can be placed through the Lunch Online Portal—www.lunchonline.co.nz. Pita Pit is available on Tuesday, and Sushi is available on Thursday. The food is delivered in time for lunch and can be collected from the school office.
