New school waiata 🎶

New school waiata 🎶

You may have noticed a new waiata being sung during our assemblies and for special occasions. This beautiful song has been written for us by Whaea Ana. We've been using this waiata to welcome visitors to our kura and during important events, including our recent trip to the marae. It's a lovely way for us to acknowledge and connect with others. The lyrics are provided below to help you learn the words so you can sing along the next time you hear them. We encourage you to take a look and learn with us!

Kaikorai mihi waiata 🎶

Ko Whānau Paki te mauka

Whakaruruhau

Ko Kaikarae te awa

E rere tonu nei

Ko Arai-te-uru te marae

Mō ka iwi nō kā hau e whā

Ko Kaikorai te kura

E mihi atu nei

Whānau Paki is the mountain

That watches over us

Kaikarae is the river

That flows out to the sea

Araiteuru is the marae

For everyone from the four winds

Kaikorai is our school

And we greet you all today
