🌿 End of Term Reflections

A huge thank you to our hard-working and dedicated teaching and support staff. This term, they have juggled writing school reports, engaging in Matariki celebrations, and preparing for whānau teacher learning conversations — all while continuing to provide rich learning experiences and care for our tamariki. Their mahi, creativity, and commitment have been outstanding, and we are so lucky to have such a passionate team here at Kaikorai.

Thank you also to all our whānau who attended the Whānau Teacher Learning Conversations this week. We hope these meetings were a valuable chance to reflect on your child’s progress and set shared goals for the term ahead.

🚸 Thank You, Road Patrol Volunteers!

A huge thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers who support our Road Patrol team each week. Your time, commitment, and cheerful presence help keep our tamariki safe as they arrive at and leave school. We truly appreciate the early mornings, rain-or-shine dedication, and the example you set in helping build a caring and responsible school community. If you're interested in joining the team and helping out, please contact Donovan: roadpatrol@kaikorai.school.nz🦺

👩‍🏫 Staffing Updates

In Term 3, we’re excited to welcome Jessica Waddell to our team. She will be working as a teacher aide across the school, supporting our tamariki. We’re also pleased to have Anna Davids stepping into Room 5 while Jill Kumar takes four weeks of leave.

🌟 Celebrating Our KAIK Values

As we reach the end of the term, it’s a special time to acknowledge students who consistently demonstrate our KAIK values – Kind, Independent, Aspiring, and Keen – and those who have made noticeable growth throughout the year. Each term, one student from every class is nominated to receive the Toby Robins Award.

This award honours Toby Robins, a former Kaikorai student who sadly passed away in 2019. Toby truly embodied our school values, and through this award, we continue to recognise tamariki who reflect the same spirit of kindness, perseverance, and enthusiasm. One overall recipient is chosen to take home the beautiful carved Kauri trophy to display for the term.

Congratulations to our overall award winner, Carter! We also celebrate the following students who were nominated:

🛌 Wishing You a Restful Break
