Week 2 Principal's News 17/10/25
Athletics Day success🏃🏻♀️
I know you will all agree: Athletics Day was an incredible success! The energy was fantastic, and it was great to see so many of our Kaik Kids challenging themselves and giving every event a real go throughout the day.
The entire event ran so smoothly. That’s down to the exceptional organisational effort from Miss Sims.
A day like this simply doesn't happen without our community. A massive thank you to our incredible whānau! We really appreciate the parents, the big brothers, and the grandparents who gave up their time to make the day possible. Whether you were measuring distances, coaching our tamariki on how to compete, raking the sand in the long jump pit, or cheering from the sidelines, your help is what makes our school community so special.
You may have noticed our fancy new gazebo—the Parents' Group generously funded it with funds raised from many initiatives this year. We are thrilled with the new asset.
In next week's newsletter, we will share the results and celebrate in the assembly as well. In the meantime, enjoy the many photographs below.
Strike - school closure (informal notice) 🚨
Kaikorai Primary School will likely be closed on 23/10/25 due to nationwide industrial action by NZEI union members. You will receive formal notification from the school board within 3 days of the strike action. Please plan for this. (Please note, Kelly Club will not be open.)
2026 class placement 📆
Thanks to those many families who have reached out this week.
When creating class placements, we consider many factors. If there are additional important factors that we may not be aware of but should consider, please schedule an appointment with Beth by November 15th for further discussion.
To make an appointment, please email Beth at principal@kaikorai.school.nz, send a message on Seesaw, or phone the office at 464 0065.
Classes will be published in the school report on December 1st , and no changes will be made after this time.
