Swimming

We start swimming on Monday and have 8 consecutive days of swimming lessons. Can you please make sure your child brings the following to school each day, and that all clothing, swimming togs, goggles, and towels are named. Thank you in advance to all the parents coming to help us with changing.

  • In a named bag: Swimming togs, goggles, towel.

  • 1-2 extra items in their lunchbox as swimming can make us hungry

  • Please tie long hair off the face, for vision in the pool.

  • please consider clothes that are easy for children to put on and off, e.g. no tights/leggings

Room 10: 10:00am

Room 12: 10.30am

Room 13: 11:00am

Disco

What an amazing time we had at the Neon Disco last night! The children were confident little dancers and many children enjoyed the treats that were available to buy. Thank you to the Parent Group for organising the disco, and thanks to all the whānau who came along.

Wacky hat day

We saw a huge variety of hats on Wacky Hat day, and some children had fun making their own at school. The children are getting outside and being active everyday.

Dog safety

The Pīwakawaka children are enjoying learning about dog safety. Rooms 10, 11 and 12 now know how to approach a dog, how to behave safely around dogs, and how to listen to a dog's behaviour. Room 9 and 13 will have their session over the next 2 weeks.

Polyfest, Thursday 4th September

Less than 2 weeks until the whole Pīwakawaka team go and perform at Polyfest! We are performing at 2pm (approximately) and would love to see you in the audience, supporting us as we perform. More details around the organisation are coming. Your child will need to wear black leggings, trousers or shorts, and their Kaikorai t-shirt that day

Spare clothes

It is very helpful to us if you keep a spare set of clothes in your child's backpack, to cover any accidents that may happen.

Important dates for this term:

Monday 25th August: Swimming starts

Thursday Sept 7th, 2pm: Pīwakawaka Polyfest performance
