Wellbeing Visit from the I Am Hope Foundation

The I Am Hope Foundation is dedicated to promoting positive mental wellbeing in young people. Their mission is to drive societal change around mental health and to give our tamariki the tools they need to talk openly about how they feel. Rather than focusing on mental illness, the foundation focuses on mental wellness—helping children understand that it’s normal to feel a range of emotions and that it’s okay to speak up.

Through the story of TR & Mack: Little People, Big Feelings, and interactive discussion, our students were guided to explore emotions such as frustration, sadness, self-doubt, and joy. The sessions led by I Am Hope ambassadors help children see that feelings are valid and that they are not alone.

Each child received their own hardcopy of the TR & Mack book to take home. A digital file is also attached. We encourage you to read through it together and continue the conversations about emotions and wellbeing at home.
