Week 1, Term 2, Principal's News 2/5/25

School production 🎭

Term 2 has begun brilliantly, buzzing with excitement about our upcoming school production at the Regent Theatre! Even though the big performance isn't until August, this term will be packed with all sorts of creative learning as we dive into every part of The Arts curriculum. Please mark Thursday, August 7th, on your calendars – that's the date of our school production! We can't wait to share it with you.

Week 2 📆

Next week, a few of our leadership team members – myself, Deputy Principal Kristen, Bridget McDowall, Emma Anderson, and Emily Armstrong – will attend a two-day seminar in Ōtepoti. This valuable workshop is led by the world-renowned educational expert, James Nottingham.

Should you have any questions or concerns during Monday and Tuesday next week, please don't hesitate to contact Miss Hardie and Mrs McBeath. You'll also see their friendly faces at the school gate both in the mornings and after school.

Next week, our Tūī and Kererū Hapori will participate in the Big Sing. This fantastic event brings together over 950 students from schools across Dunedin at the Town Hall to share in the joy of singing. I'm so excited to be there next Wednesday evening, and I will be a very proud principal in the audience! A big thank you to Mrs Kumar for coordinating this event.

Staffing news ✏️

We are delighted to welcome Mrs Alex Whyte to the Tūī Hapori this term. Alex will be teaching Rūma whitu every Friday, which will provide Mrs McBeath with leadership release time.

I hope many of you can attend the farewell for Miss Dunn in week 3 - Please remember to RSVP.

As always, please don't hesitate to contact me at any time.
