Jump Jam 🕺🏻

This weekend, we have 4 crews participating in the Dunedin Jump Jam Competition. For this to happen, Miss Hardie, Miss Sims, Miss Youngs, Mrs McDowall, and our student teachers, Miss Horton and Miss McLean, have given up many, many lunchtimes to coach the crew through these complex routines. We are so proud of the commitment everyone has shown towards Jump Jam, and we wish all the best for this weekend's event.

Enrolment for 2025 📆

An enrolment scheme governs enrolment at Kaikorai Primary School. The details are available on the school website.

If you live in the home zone of Kaikorai Primary School, then you have an automatic right of entry. If you plan to enrol your child at Kaikorai Primary School for 2025 and live in the home zone, please contact the school office as soon as possible.

If you live outside of the school’s home zone, you do not have an automatic right to enrolment. Please read the following carefully:

Out-of-Zone Places for 2025

The Kaikorai Primary School Board has determined that limited spaces are available for out-of-zone New Entrants turning 5 during 2025 and no spaces for out-of-zone Year 1-6 students.

Applications for Out of Zone New Entrants close at 3 pm on Friday 30 August 2024.

A ballot will be held if out-of-zone applications exceed the number of places available.

Maths Week 🧮

This past week, our school proudly celebrated Maths Week/Wiki Pāngarau 2024! It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to engage in activities that strengthened their problem-solving and reasoning skills, beyond the usual 1 hour a day of maths.

Each day, we held an exciting competition where students tackled a variety of math problems, drawing on their understanding of mathematics. Our learners showed enthusiasm and demonstrated perseverance with these tasks. Thank you to all the teachers, staff, and students who made this week a great success. We look forward to continuing to nurture a love for mathematics in our school community.
