This whakataukī speaks to the importance of strong foundations and roots, which can be interpreted as having solid character, values, and principles. A strong, well-rooted tree stands tall and can weather storms, providing shelter and sustenance, much like a good leader who is firmly grounded and resilient and sets a strong example for others.

Our Kaik Values

Over the last few weeks, we have encouraged our students to advocate for what is right, lead with kindness, and make good decisions.

We listened to a story called “The Three Questions.” The story was about doing the right thing at the right time and for the right people. I have attached the link if you would like to have a look at home. The story has strong messages about kindness and care for others.

Whānau/Teacher Learning Conversations

Over the last few weeks, teachers have been working hard behind the scenes to write your child's report. We hope you find these reports informative and that they provide you with a clear insight into your child's progress. We look forward to being able to catch up with you at Whānau-Teacher Learning Conversations to delve deeper into these reports, discuss next steps, and celebrate your child's successes. The partnership between home and school is incredibly important, and we thank you in advance for taking the time to attend.

Production

The Kaikorai School production will be held on Thursday, August 7th, at the Regent Theatre. Our classes are busy choreographing dances and learning songs for our performance. Information regarding costumes will be sent out in the next few weeks.

Year 6 Camp Fundraising

We plan to hold a weekly sausage sizzle next term to raise money for our Year 6 Camp. Please click on the link and complete the form, even if you think you cannot help. If we get enough support, we will start on Friday, July 18th. The sausage sizzle usually allows us to take approximately $60 off each child’s camp fee.

Thank you to the Year 6 families who have completed the form.

Internet Safety- Do you know what your children are doing online?

Please take the time to view your child’s activity online. Constable Ross Greer will be at school next week to talk to our team about keeping themselves safe online.
