Pīwakawaka Hapori news
PBL (Project Based Learning)
Recently the Pīwakawaka Hapori have been immersing themselves in ‘The Arts’ world. We have been singing, acting, dancing and crafting.
For 5 Friday’s this term our kaiako have planned an art swap where all the tamariki get to experience each element of the arts. The children will have one session with each teacher in the Pīwakawaka team.
On Wednesday we went on an Art walk, where we got to go into each class and admire the beautiful art works the children have made. This was a great opportunity for our students to see other classrooms and possibly develop some of their ideas for their own art pieces.
It was loads of fun and we look forward to continuing our journey of our PBL into next term.
Winter is here!
Thank you to those who are keeping their children home when they are unwell. There are lots of bugs going around at the moment, and we appreciate your support in keeping everyone healthy.
We spend some time outside most days, even in winter, so please make sure your child wears sensible winter shoes and brings a jacket or warm layers to keep them cosy.
Little People, Big Feelings Show
On Thursday we watched a show about big feelings and how to talk about them. We discussed our emotions and who we can talk to when we need too.
Whānau- Teacher Learning Conversations
All of our teachers have been working hard recently writing a report about your child. We look forward to sharing these with you, and then discussing your child's learning and progress during Whānau- Teacher Learning conversations. We will share your child's next steps with you as well. Please book a time to meet your with child's teacher.
