Kids Sing 🎶

Having over 200 tamariki from Kaikorai School join the Kids Sing on Wednesday night was fantastic! Among the 24 participating schools, we proudly had the largest group of students. While many schools brought only their choir or interested singers, Kaikorai intentionally included all our Year 3-6 students in this wonderful event. We believe in offering opportunities to all our tamariki, especially those that might encourage them to step outside their comfort zones, even if they wouldn't typically join a choir or say yes to participating in the event.

To the whānau who were able to join us on Wednesday evening, I hope you enjoyed the performance and felt it was a valuable experience for your child.

World Vision Youth Conference 🌍

Four Year 6 students had the opportunity to attend the World Vision Youth Conference this week. This engaging event, while perhaps a new experience for some, provided valuable insights into important global issues. Our students viewed videos and heard firsthand accounts detailing the impact of climate change on the Solomon Islands. They also participated in discussions about leadership and collaborated to develop pitches for social action initiatives, such as the 40-Hour Challenge. The conference finished with information about child slavery in cacao plantations, inspiring our students to advocate for change by signing letters to their local MP.

We are very proud of the way these students represented Kaikorai Primary School.

Is your child starting school in 2026? ✏️

To help us plan for 2026, please let us know if you have a child starting school that year. Knowing how many children living within our school zone have enrolled helps us determine how many spaces we can offer to students living outside the zone. If you have a child turning five in 2026 and haven't enrolled them, please do so this weekend.

Information from the Ministry of Education 📧

Education is a partnership between what happens in the classroom and at home. Parents, caregivers, and whānau are important in supporting their child’s learning and development. The new webspace is designed to make it easier for parents, caregivers, and whānau to access clear and up-to-date information on the school curriculum, assessment practices, and ways they can complement their child’s learning.
