Week 1 news

Week 1 news

It has been a busy first week back with lots of tired faces after a week of swimming for the junior and middles tamariki. Thank you so much for the parent helpers this week!

Property news ๐Ÿฆบ ๐Ÿ””

The bell cairn reconstruction is underway. The roof is back on site, and it is starting to take shape. This is a significant part of our history and identity and to see it in its new home is magnificent.

The hall demolition has begun! The view heading up Stuart Street will be quite different once this building has come down; we are thrilled with our new hall space and happy we have had this for the last two terms.

Parent Group โญ

Please support our latest fundraiser. This teatowel will be a perfect Christmas gift and can be used as sustainable wrapping paper.

The calendar art has arrived, and we should hopefully have it out to you within a few weeks.

What else is coming up? We have a disco on December the 8th. We always need plenty of parent help - please sign up to help at the junior disco by following this link or the middle and senior disco by following this link. The times are listed on the sheet.

The parent group do an amazing job of fundraising for the 'extras' we have in our school.

School reports and assessment โœ

Our school end-of-year progress and achievement reports will look slightly different this year. We have moved to create our report using our school management system (Edge), and you will be emailed your child's report on Friday, 2nd December (Week 7). It is imperative that your email address is accurate in the school office so that you can receive the report without any hiccups.

Please advise your child's teacher if you prefer a paper copy rather than a PDF emailed copy.

Fire and earthquake drills โ€๐Ÿš’

This week we have had both a trial fire evacuation and an earthquake drill. The children were excellent in remaining calm and listening to and following instructions. Next week is the national shakeout earthquake drill. You can read about how to prepare your household for an earthquake here.

Athletics day ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
