Term 3, Week 4, Principal's News 23/5/25
Kia ora Kaikorai whānau,
We are half way through this term! I am loving seeing all the PBL (Project Based Learning) mahi happening in class. There are artists study happening, learning choreography for the production, playing ukulele - it's wonderful to see a celebration and focus on the arts.
A shout out too to our amazing team who spend their lunchtimes providing opportunities for our tamariki. We have Jump Jam, Sign Language Club, Drama Club, Choir, recorder, PALS, netball and production practices happening! Thank you 👏🏻
School Reports and Learning Conversations ✏️
Our teachers are reviewing student assessment data to prepare for Term 2 school reports. On Thursday, June 19th, these reports will be emailed to the registered email address on file.
We will hold our whānau-teacher learning conversations the following week. This is a very important opportunity for you to meet with your child's teacher to discuss their report, academic progress, social development, and emotional growth. We strongly encourage all families to make time for this meeting.
You'll receive an email in the coming weeks with a link to our booking portal, where you can choose a timeslot for either Tuesday, June 24th, or Wednesday, June 25th.
Illness and staying home guidelines from Health NZ 🤧
Going to school every day is important for all school-aged tamariki. It helps build their confidence and social skills, and helps them achieve their education. This information helps you decide when it is okay to send your child to school, when to keep your child at home and when to contact a health professional for advice. Kaikorai Primary School follows and enforces this guidance.

Māori Whānau Hui
Thank you to our Māori whānau who attended our hui this week. It was great to kōrero with you about your tamariki and how we can support our Māori learners. Māori families can expect to receive a follow-up email in the next week.
Next week 📆
A reminder that Kristen Ferguson is Acting Principal while I am visiting schools in Brisbane next week.
