Week 4 Principal's News 8/8/25

What a week it's been at Kaikorai! Our Pīwakawaka Hapori celebrated their 100th day of school, some of our students competed in the Hills Cluster Cross Country Race, and all 314 of our students took to the stage at the Regent Theatre.

I am so proud to be the principal of Kaikorai Primary School. I can't thank my dedicated team enough for the energy and effort they put in for our tamariki every day - this is what Kaikorai is all about!

Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini. This translates to -My strength is not that of an individual, but the strength of many - emphasising that success is achieved through collective effort and support.

The Game Of Life 🤩

Last night's school production was a spectacular success, and it wouldn't have been possible without the talent, enthusiasm, and energy of our dedicated team. A massive thank you to all the teachers and support staff who have poured countless hours into this event over the past few months.

The success of our school production is a testament to the hard work and dedication of many. A special thank you to Ms Emily Armstrong and Miss Rosarah Hardie. They wrote the script and have worked tirelessly on this since January, all while managing their full-time teaching load. Their commitment to this production has been outstanding.

A huge well done to our tamariki who shone on stage. A special thank you to Kailaya, Betty, Matteo, and Artie for bringing the stage to life with your amazing performances in the lead roles.

Thank you to our Kaikorai whānau who came out to support our tamariki at last night’s performance. We hope you’ll agree that the Regent Theatre was the perfect stage for our students to truly shine. With over 800 people in attendance, hosting the event at the Regent allowed us to bring our whole community together for one spectacular evening—rather than splitting the show over multiple nights or a matinee. While hiring a professional venue and AV equipment does come at a cost, your support through ticket sales made it all possible.

Rob Cope Presentation - Save the date 📱

Does your child have access to a device, whether it's your phone, a tablet, or a PlayStation at a friend's house? If so, this is a presentation you won't want to miss.

Please save the date: Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

Tickets will go on sale early next term. After attending last year's presentation, we can assure you this is an informative, challenging, and important talk that you do not want to miss.

Find out about Rob Cope and the presentation here.

New playground equipment 🛝

The long-awaited new bars are being installed next week! They will be located near the sports shed and picnic tables, and we know they'll be a popular addition for everyone who loves to hang and climb.

Upcoming Paid Union Meetings ✅

On Tuesday, August 20, some teachers and I will be attending Paid Union Meetings.

To allow staff to attend one of the two meetings scheduled for the day, learning will look a little different. During this time, students will be participating in buddy class activities. We appreciate your support and understanding.

As always, thank you for your support and feel free to contact me at any time for a kōrero about your child.
