Week 6 Principal's News 29/5/26
Record-Breaking Peanut Butter Fundraiser! 🥜
We are thrilled to announce that our recent peanut butter fundraiser was a record-breaker, we officially placed the largest order the company has ever seen from a Dunedin school.
Every dollar raised goes directly back into our classrooms and supports our KAIK Kids. This year alone, the Parents’ Group has funded:
Creative Arts: A visit from artist Bob Bickerton and illustrator Bruce Potter, plus new musical instruments and Kapa Haka kits.
Learning & Play: New classroom mats, library furniture, and EPro8 science/engineering kit hire.
Sports & Outdoors: New sports equipment and a contribution toward the Year 6 camp bus.
We are so grateful for the Parents' Group and their incredible support of our school community.
Reporting to Parents ✅
I hope our last two newsletters provided helpful insights into the new curriculum, updated descriptors, and changes to our reporting process. These updates should clarify exactly what you can expect to see in your child’s upcoming mid-year report.
To help you feel fully supported, we recommend visiting the MOE Parent Portalwhich provides excellent guides on what your child is learning and how you can support their progress at home.
Term 3 Teacher Only Day
The School Board has approved a curriculum day to support the implementation of the new Mathematics Curriculum.
Our staff will be joining the Hills Cluster team to work together on Monday, August 24th. Please note that the school will be closed on this day.
Kelly Club will be open for bookings. Please contact them directly to secure a space for your child.
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out if I can help in any way.
Ngā mihi
