Week 1 News

Week 1 News

Thank you to the amazing team at Kaikorai for creating warm and welcoming learning environments and exciting programmes this week. This week the focus is around coming together as Kaikorai and as classes. We are revisiting the Kaik values and the importance of living these values in all we do.

Meet the teachers' family picnic and BBQ 🌭

We would love you to come along next Thursday 9th February to meet the teachers, hear about the programmes in each syndicate and the expectations of learning and have a look through the new spaces.

Family picnic at 6 pm on the courts, sausages and bread available from the school BBQ and bring a picnic to eat on the courts with your family.

Syndicate presentations

6:30 - 6:45    Juniors

6:45 - 7:00 - Middles

7:00 - 7:15 - Seniors

The playground will be supervised for your children while the presentations are on and there is plenty of room for scooters too!

We hope you can join us!

After-school sports registrations 🏈

Registrations close next week to allow for time to sort the teams out. If you wish for your child to play a sport you must complete the forms by following this link by February 7th.

Kapa haka registrations 🎶

Last call for your child to join kapa haka for 2023. Please follow this link to register your child.

Road Patrol 🦺

We are in desperate need of volunteers who can safely get our children across the road before and after school. Can you help us? Please email roadpatrol@kaikorai.school.nz if you can offer just a little bit of time to keep our tamariki safe.

Parent Group ✅

We have an awesome parent group (in some schools it's called a PTA or Friends of the School). This group coordinates and runs fundraising in the school and helps to develop the Kaikorai community through fun events. We have our first meeting of the year on Tuesday 14th February at 7 pm in the senior learning street. Anyone is welcome to come along and there is no commitment to come to every meeting, but we would welcome some new members. We hope to see you!

New basketball hoops🏀

The BOT has invested a significant amount of money on the new airtime hoops. We want you to enjoy these hoops at the weekend and enjoy the new space for scootering and playing. Please use this space respectfully and let me know if you see any visitors to the school not using the new hoops with care.
