Week 8 Principal's news
Parent interviews booking 🗣
You will receive your child's report via email next Friday. It is really important you have the opportunity to kōrero with your child's teacher to ask questions and hear more about progress, achievement and goals. This is where the magic happens when the home-school partnership comes together. To book an interview, please follow this link https://www.schoolinterviews.co.nz/code/u7n9k
The team leaders have moderated the reports, and I have read each individual report also. I am impressed with the quality of information you will be receiving, the clear and concise language used, and you will have a good understanding of your child's learning. There should be no 'bad surprises' in a school report. If you are finding out something for the first time in the school report, we are doing something wrong.
This a reminder that reports will be emailed to your registered email address we have on file on 23rd June.
Scholastic Book Week ⚓
What a fantastic celebration of literacy this week has been. I have loved seeing the big, tiny, and favourite books come through the door each day and the all-around excitement about books.
I have been reading stories with classes this week, and sharing a picture book together has been a joy. The power of reading a story together, putting on silly voices, and anticipation of what is coming next in the story is just magical.
A huge thank you to Mrs Cockroft, who has put this event together in the most swashbuckling way!
Pizza lunch order 🍕
Thank you to our parents' group for their organisation of another fundraiser. Orders will close on Monday.
Illness 😷
There is an awful lot of illness around our kura at this time. Ministry of Health guidelines state that children should not return to school until they are well and for 48 hours after the last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting. If you do send your child back to school too early, after a vomiting or diarrhoea bug, we will respectfully ask you to come and collect them from the sick bay.
