Principal's News 1/8/25
As you will read in the Team Leaders' newsletters, many activities are happening at Kaikorai. These include the production, preparations for swimming and camp, celebrating 100 days at school, and the cross-country event. We believe we do things well at Kaikorai; we fit a lot into our days, and everything is completed to a high standard. This is thanks to our exceptional team of educators who have high expectations and want the best for our Kaik Kids.
Our recent Board meeting included a review of our mid-year data. We are on track to achieve our school-wide goal of 80 to 85 percent of our students working at or above expectations in reading, writing, and mathematics by the end of the year, with all year groups showing positive progress.
Also at the meeting, Rachael Jenkins was voted in as Presiding Member, and Katie Devereux assumed the position of Deputy Presiding Member.
Teacher-only days, like the one we had today, are incredibly important. They allow us to collaborate with other schools in our Cluster, ensuring we all have a strong and consistent understanding of the new maths curriculum and how to teach it effectively. This fidelity across our teams means your children are getting the best possible learning experience. Thank you for your support with days like today.
See you at The Regent Theatre next week! If you need assistance with tickets, please contact me. We want everyone to be able to attend.
As always, please do not hesitate to get in touch if I can help in any way - chat with me at the gate, send me an email or pop in.
