The booking portal for our mid-year Whānau–Teacher Learning Conversations is now open.
These mid-year kōrero are a wonderful opportunity to connect and discuss your child's progress. We expect all families to book a timeslot, unless you have recently had a more in-depth Individual Education Plan (IEP) meeting.
Please note the booking portal closes on Monday, June 22nd, at 5pm.

The Power of Community 🥇
I regularly have the privilege of showing prospective families around Kaikorai Primary School. During these tours, one of my favourite topics of conversation is just how amazing and generous our school community is.
It occurred to me, however, that our newest families might not yet know how to get involved, or just how much Kaikorai relies on our wonderful whānau network.
Here are a few great examples of our community in action:
Road Patrol: Every volunteer holding the stop sign on Wright Street to keep our kids safe is a parent or grandparent.
Walking School Bus: Volunteers who walk our children safely along Highgate to school each day.
Parents' Group: This fantastic team organises and runs all the fundraising initiatives for our school.
Sports Coaches: Every single one of our sports teams is coached by a parent or an older sibling.
Kaikorai School Board: Busy, working parents who dedicate hours each month to the governance of our school.
We are incredibly grateful for this support, and we always welcome new faces. If you would like to get involved in any of these areas, please chat with me at the gate or email me.
We rely on you to make Kaikorai the great school that it is.
Staffing News 🍎
This week, we welcome Krysta Taylor to Kaikorai. Krysta is covering Pīwakawaka teachers release time while Nicky Garden is on leave.
In Term 3, we welcome back Courtney Dunn for the remainder of the year. Courtney will be teaching a Y1 class in the Pīwakawaka Learning Street, Room 14. We are really excited about this.
