Week 3 Principal's News 8/5/26
Term 1 Attendance ✅
We recently received our Term 1 attendance data from the Ministry of Education.
In Term 1, we had 85% Regular Attendance ( regular means missing fewer than five days over the entire term).
96% of our students are arriving on time each morning!
While we understand that "life happens" and occasional delays are inevitable, arriving with a few minutes to spare makes a world of difference. It gives students the chance to:
Settle into their space without rushing.
Catch up with their mates.
Emotionally regulate and prepare for the day ahead.
When students start the day feeling calm and connected, they are much better equipped for learning.
Our data showed that 22% of absences were due to holidays taken during term time. We encourage families to prioritise school days whenever possible to keep that learning momentum going.
If your child is frequently arriving late or finding the morning transition difficult, please reach out to us. We have plenty of practical strategies to help support your morning organisation at home and ensure a stress-free start for your family.
Thank you for your ongoing support in making school a priority!
Support Staff Week 🌸
Next week, we are celebrating our support staff and the vital role they play in our school. Our team includes 11 teacher aides, Sam and Sharon in the office, and Kim, our caretaker.
The School Board makes an intentional investment in employing 11 teacher aides because we recognise the direct impact they have on student outcomes. This dedicated team consistently upskills and stays current with best practices to build positive, supportive relationships with all our tamariki.
All students benefit from the work of our learning support team. If you or your whānau would like to acknowledge their hard work, please feel free to do so in a way that suits you.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
