Tūī Hapori News

PBL 

Classes in tūī hapori have been working on a range of activities to build their skills and knowledge of the arts (music, dance, drama, and visual arts). Different classes are at different points of their explorations and this learning will continue into next term alongside preparing our dances for the Game of Life production. Having people come and share their knowledge is great for our students and helps us learn more. If you have any expertise in these areas and would be happy to share your knowledge we would love to get you involved. If you think that you’ve got some knowledge or skills to share but feel a bit nervous about speaking to a whole class, we are happy to adapt by sending questions home, or selecting a small group to talk with you.

Whānau - Teacher Learning Conversations 

Over the last few weeks, teachers have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to write your child's report. We hope you find these reports informative and that they provide you with a clear insight into your child's progress. We look forward to being able to catch up with you at Whānau - Teacher Learning Conversations to delve deeper into these reports, discuss next steps, and celebrate your child's successes. The partnership between home and school is incredibly important, and we thank you in advance for taking the time to attend.

Chapter Book Review

The Terrible Two is all about some pranksters who are Miles Murphy and Niles Sparks and the principal is Principal Barkin. Miles moved to Yawnee Valley. Yawnee Valley has lots of cows. In school Miles and Niles teamed up to be pranksters. My favourite part is when the cows were in the school. Niles rode the bike which had a basket of hay. The cows followed Niles to the school. The cows walked up the stairs but they couldn’t come down. They were stuck. In the morning, Principal Barkin bumped into something large-It was a cow! He had to close the school.    IT WAS FUNNY!

The Terrible Two

This is about The Terrible Two: The main characters are Miles Murphy, Niles Sparks and Principal Barkin. They all live in Yawnee Valley. Miles and Niles go to Yawnee Valley Science and Letters Academy. Miles and Niles are pranksters and there are lots of cows in Yawnee Valley - more than I can count. My favourite part was when 2,000 crickets went into the classroom from a diorama. Miles made a diorama and was going to switch it with Niles’s diorama. It was of Principal Barkin in a bubble bath. Then he was going to switch it so he did. He was so delighted. Then while Miles wasn’t concentrating Niles switched it again then Miles had 2,000 crickets in the diorama.

The Terrible Two

This story is about two pranksters Miles Murphy and Niles Sparks. Miles had just moved to Yawnee Valley. The school was called Yawnee Valley Science and Letters Academy. In Yawnee Valley there are lots of cows in the town, it is very new to him. Miles went to another school in another city. He was the school prankster so he thought he could be the new school prankster at his new school. Miles made up a pretend person called Cody Burr-Tyler. He turned out to be real!

My favourite part was when the cow got into Principal Barkin's office. There was one cow that got into the office, then Principal Barkins had a little laugh about it, then there was other cows and then Principal Barkins said it is my lucky day, and then lots of cows got into the office. Then Principal Barkins squealed. Principal Barkin's office was filled with cows.
