Tūī Hapori News
It's been a busy term with lots of exciting things happening - The Game of Life production, swimming, Polyfest for the members of our Kapa Haka group, and our first school Read-a-thon. I would like to thank everyone for their support of these actvities, which have helped make them such a huge success.
PBL
Following on from our work on the arts (visual art, dance, drama, and music) in terms 2 and 3, students have been working on passion projects to showcase a mixture of their skills in these areas. It has been wonderful to see students work hard to demonstrate the skills they have learned. Some students and groups have performed their dances and plays in front of an audience, before making small changes, aspiring to be the best they could be. Some groups also worked on making props, and co-ordinted hair styles and costumes.
Read-a-thon
A massive thank you to all our tamariki and whānau for supporting this fundraiser. Your efforts have helped us raise valuable funds that will go directly towards supporting our school library and purchasing literacy resources for our class reading programmes.
Rooms 7 and 8 returned the most green cards and were rewarded with some pizza and an ice block.
Term 4
We have some exciting things to look forward to in Term 4:
Athletics Day
Tirohanga Day Trip (Please remember to fill out the permission form)
PBL - our driving question for Term 4 will be 'How can movement, relationships, and healthy choices work together to support hauora across our school community?' We would love to have some parent experts support this learning. If you have skills or relevant knowledge that you would be happy to share with us please let your child's teacher know. This could be: nutrition, sports, mindfulness, yoga, how our bodies work etc. Having parents talk to the class or smaller groups of students is always a highlight of our learning.
We hope you are able to enjoy some family time over the holiday break. Next term, we will be hoping for some settled weather and lots of sunshine - this will also mean pulling school sunhats out of storage so that they can be worn in Term 4.
Ngā mihi,
