Support Staff
This week, we took the opportunity to celebrate and thank our incredible support staff! The support our learning assistants provide often happen behind the scenes, directly impacting our students' learning journeys. Reading through the cards and messages our students wrote showed how much they appreciate the personalised attention, extra guidance, and encouragement they receive. Whether it's providing one-on-one support in the classroom, helping students navigate challenging concepts, or simply offering a reassuring presence, our learning assistants help to create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment for everyone. Kelly Mackay, Margaret Galbraith, AK Keogh, and Alex Maffey - you are all amazing and we couldn't do what we do without you!
We would also like to say a big thank you to Sharon Fitzgerald and Samantha Ker-Fox in the office. We know you answer countless questions from students and staff, alongside managing your never ending list of jobs. Your kindness in providing first aid and offering care whenever it's needed ensures that students always feel comforted.
PBL
The focus for this term's PBL (Project Based Learning) is The Arts. We will be exploring visual art, music, dance, and drama as part of this in the lead up to Term 3's production. We have started on our first milestone which is all about using different tools and materials to create pieces of art. We look forward to sharing these with you on Seesaw.
Kids Sing
We were extremely proud of our students and how well they performed at the recent Kids Sing event. This was our first time taking part in this, and there was a little bit of uncertainty about what they were going to be doing. While many students expressed their nerves prior to the performance, once they knew exactly what it was all about, the excitement overtook their nerves. We look forward to taking part in Kids Sing again in the future.
Farewell to Miss Dunn
While she is not a teacher in our syndicate, the positive impact that Miss Dunn has had on our students was evident in the messages they wrote to farewell her. We wish her all the best, as she moves on from Kaikorai.
