Week 11 is Wellbeing Week at Kaikorai. Check out what's happening below!
Each day, we will have themed activities dedicated to Wellbeing: Connect, Get Active, Be Mindful and Give Back.
You will see Morning Greeters at the gate, who stand alongside teachers welcoming children into school to start each day with a smile.
Ms Downie and Mrs Ferguson will visit classes throughout the week and read a book about Zones of Regulation or Wellbeing.
Monday 11 April - Connect - Connections support and enrich us every day.
We will start off with a whole school assembly outside. Later in the day, an Activity Fair will be held where students can visit different stations to find out more about the clubs and teams Kaikorai has to offer.
Tuesday 12 April - Get Active - We all know exercise is good for your body, but it can be good for your mind too.
Students will be involved in a Sports afternoon, led by senior students.
Wednesday 13 April - Be Mindful - Noticing what is going on in our bodies and minds is an important skill for staying mentally healthy.
Students will be doing a variety of mindfulness activities in their classrooms throughout the day.
Thursday 14 April - Give Back - Evidence shows that helping others is actually beneficial for your own mental health and wellbeing, too. It can help reduce stress, improve your emotional well-being and even benefit your physical health.
Students are asked to bring in some non-perishable food to donate to the local food banks - thanks to the parent group for supporting this initiative.
We will also be giving back to the school by picking up rubbish around and tidying up the area.
