It is hard to believe we are nearing the end of Term 1. Like every year, it has been a busy start to the year and we hope you have found your child has settled in well and is developing a love of learning!

PBL

Driving Question - How can we showcase our learning and spaces without parents on-site?

We are well into our first PBL of the year and it is fair to say the children are buzzing. We know how much children love sharing their work and achievements with you all, which makes this PBL that much more authentic and engaging! We have been busy learning how to take quality photos, how to make books and how to write captions. We look forward to sharing our final products with you in the coming weeks.

Swimming

On Monday, the 16th of May (Week 3, Term 2) we begin our first swimming block of the year. Children will have eight half-hour sessions concluding on Wednesday the 25th of May. Swimming lessons are provided through JC Swim School and are held at the DNI Pool. For this to go ahead we do require parent helpers so please note these dates in your calendar. More information about class swimming times will be sent out early next term. The cost of swimming is likely to be $77-$80 per child which includes bus costs. As we have a second swimming block in Term 4 the yearly cost of swimming is likely to be $154-$160 per child. Please don’t hesitate to get in contact with Sharon if you would like to set up a payment plan.

Thank you

We want to extend a big thank you for your support and understanding over the last few weeks as we deal with staff absences. While we hoped this wouldn’t happen, we have been well prepared. We are so lucky to have such skilled relievers to step in when needed. Thank you to Tony, Garrand and Nicky who have continued to make school a fun and safe place for our tamariki.

Ngā mihi maioha,
