Welcome back to Term 3!

Book Week

Book Week is always a highlight of the school year and it just seems to get better and better! Special times were had where different teachers shared stories, buddy classes participated in book activities and of course dress up day and book week assembly were highlights. A week like this does not just happen so a big thanks must go to Mrs Fisher for her incredible organisation. Thank you for providing our children with such fun and rich learning experiences!

PBL

How can we, as creators, tell a story through the arts?

A production term, while a busy time is always memorable! Creativity is bursting with children and teachers exploring the elements of dance, drama, music and visual arts.

Linking to our production theme, we are enjoying learning all about fairytales. Not only are we learning what a fairytale is, but we are also listening to different fairytales, many of which are new stories to our children. We encourage you to hunt out some classic fairytales from your childhood and share these with your children.

Alongside creating our final production piece, the junior children will be creating invitations to invite you along to the show. In doing this, the children will learn the process of writing an invitation to include important information, the use of colour and the design of an effective layout.

We always love having parents, grandparents and extended family involved in our PBL process. If you have any expertise in the areas of music, dance drama or art, we would love to hear from you. Alternatively, you may like to come in and share your favourite fairytale with your child's class - you are always welcome!

Cross Country

Wow! Proud is an understatement for the huge effort that our little people put into our school cross country. We loved seeing the big smiles on all the children's faces as they crossed the finish line. No doubt there would have been some tired children on Wednesday night.

Many thanks for your continued support!

Reminders:

Spare Clothes:

As the weather is getting colder and the grounds getting wet and muddier we ask that all children have a spare change of clothes in their bag.

Lost Property:

Already this term we have quite a collection of lost property. Please ensure all items are clearly named so these can be returned.

When I am 100 years old

I will look like a wrinkly elephant.
I will smell like sushi. I will feel exhausted. I will eat only sushi. I will hear the town bell ringing. I will live in a castle.
By Harriet Mander

When I am 100 years old
I look like a brown ball with veins. I feel like an old smelly sock. I smell like a rotten egg. I taste fish and porridge every year. I hear the planet.

When I am 100 years old
I look like a child with a few wrinkles. I feel like a smooth piece of leather with perfect pink skin colour. I smell like a bath with lots of bubbles. I taste nothing but healthy food. I hear old music and dance to it.
