Read what Monty, our awesome site manager, has to say about the building progress!
Well, we face some adversity over the fence with multiple weather delays. With that said, we are now pushing on with the framing + timber structure,
12mm Reo Bar @ 150mm Centres was used to form Reinforcing requirements for the ground floor slab. A lot more work than using your traditional mesh commonly seen in residential buildings.
Ever wondered how we move concrete around and get it from A to B? We use a machine called a concrete pump. This makes the concrete super easy to move around and install. This Pump pictured can pump up to 4 stories high and reach over 30m.
Supreme Concrete Solutions Limited is back on the mahi. Shout out to the Tane and his tamariki associated with the Kura. Outstanding finishing and quality!!!
All the exterior/perimeter framing is installed with straightening, plumbing and associated hardware to archive the required bracing elements being applied.
Below GluLum Beams are installed in preparation to form the Mezzanine floor to the new staff room. These beams from underneath will be a feature of the new Library ceiling.
Moving forward, we intend to complete the internal framing + Mezzanine floor within the next two weeks and (weather depended) allow us to install the upper floor framing. This will be closely followed by the truss + LvL install.
Big wraps to Blair Collie for getting in and doing some hard mahi cutting and splitting the tree where the Memorial Bell Cairn will be relocated in the coming months.
We cut the footing for the Permacrib retaining wall that will retain the area that needs filling from the Block 1 demolition. We are currently awaiting a ground test as we have found similar ground to the foundations of Block 9.
