Ka mau te wehi - What an end to Term 3!
Production
Like us, I am sure you are all so proud of your children for their efforts in our school production. Many hours were spent learning dances, practising lines and perfecting their performances and what a show it was! Not only did the children learn elements of dance, drama and art, they also learnt how to be resilient and persevere. For most of our Juniors, this is their first time on stage performing to a large audience so the confidence they have gained is immense!
Productions like this don't just happen so a big thank you must go to our phenomenal teachers and support staff, Courtney, Paula, Glenda, Emma, Hannah, Sian, Nicole, Tony, Nicky, Sue, Kelly, Jacinda, AK and Margaret. Thank you for continuing to go above and beyond for our tamariki. The extra hours spent making costumes, creating dances and helping with the organisation do not go unnoticed. We are so lucky to have you all at Kaikorai! We also want to thank Rosie Hardie, Kristen Ferguson and Jill Kumar for their HUGE effort behind the scenes to ensure the show ran smoothly!
Art Gallery
Alongside production prep, the Juniors have been visiting the Art Gallery. We enjoyed our tours of the gallery, particularly the interactive art. Each class worked with Libbi to create a stunning piece of art to take home. Thank you to all our parent helpers who came along to these visits. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
Farewells
Firstly we want to thank our Third Year College of Education students, Emma Howell and Sian Stephens and Mia Norwood, a Graduate Diploma Student from the University of Waikato. All three students have spent the year with us and we have watched them all grow into confident, caring and innovative teachers. Thank you, Emma, Sian and Mia for your contribution to Kaikorai Primary. We wish you well in what we know will be very successful teaching careers.
Sadly, we also farewell Miss Nicole Wilson who has been teaching in Rūma Ono for the last term and a half. Thank you Nicole for your enthusiasm and dedication. You go the extra mile for the children in your class and we feel so lucky to have had you at Kaikorai Primary. We wish you well in your new position at East Taieri School.
