Literature Masterminds!

Today (Friday 24 March 2023) four of our Senior students took part in a literature quiz at Dunedin North Intermediate.

The Kids' Lit Quiz is an annual literature quiz for students aged 10 - 13 years. Quizzes are held in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Indonesia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand and the USA. Teams of four students are asked to answer 100 questions on children’s literature divided into ten categories, which vary each year. Examples of categories include poetry, authors, titles, settings, characters, and nursery rhymes.

This year, Eleanor Geddes, Cameron Cortesi, Penelope Hodgson and Freddie Richards represented Kaikorai Primary at the Kids Lit Quiz. They competed against 20 other teams of Year 5-8 students from around Otago.

Our team of book lovers placed 3rd in the Year 5/6 heat and 5th overall! A big CONGRATULATIONS and ka pai tō mahi!! We are so proud of you!
