He taonga rongonui te aroha ki te tangata - Goodwill towards others is a precious treasure

It has certainly been three weeks jam-packed with fun. Our Matariki evening in Week 1 feels like a distant memory, but what a fantastic evening it was. Seeing the lanterns aglow all around the school was truly special, as was observing our Junior Kapa Haka leaders share a karakia. We thank you for joining us for this event. We consider ourselves fortunate to have such a supportive community, and we are well aware of how much the children enjoyed showcasing their space learning to you.

100 Days of School Since the start of the year, the Junior children have been eagerly counting down to the much-anticipated 100th day of school. In true Junior Syndicate fashion, we celebrated with a lively 100-day party. On Wednesday, you likely saw numerous little ones dressed as 100-year-olds, along with the 100 Number Block and some creative 100-themed t-shirts. The highlight of the day was our activities based on the number 100 such as construction, crowns, craft and games. It's no wonder why this day has become a favourite in the school year!

PBL & Play Driving Question: How can we promote healthy living for ourselves and others? This term, our focus is on physical and mental well-being through the overarching theme of play. Children will engage in various games such as board games, card games, team games, traditional Māori games, and pastime classics. We look forward to watching the natural development of social skills that come from participating in these games. Additionally, we will delve into healthy eating and oral health care. If you are in the healthcare profession and would be willing to share your knowledge with our tamariki, please reach out to your child's teacher. We greatly value our community's involvement in our learning.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact us.
