Last weekend we celebrated our four Jump Jam teams at the Dunedin Jump Jam competition at KVC.
This year we had four teams representing Kaikorai at the strictly Jump Jam competition. The strictly competition is where teams learn a Jump Jam and have to perform the routine with no choreography changes or costumes. Points are awarded for things such as timing, energy, facial expressions chants, and singing. We are very proud of all four teams and the hard work they put in to the lead-up to the competition.
A special congratulations go out to Kaikspray who were awarded third place in a tough competition against year 7 and 8's and the Kaikorai Freak Show who came first in their category and are now invited to compete at the national competition in Christchurch!
Holly (Y6) - We were so impressed watching the other teams so we were feeling a little nervous. I am so proud of our team!
Leon (Y6) - My heart was pumping and my legs were shaking. The crowd was cheering us on. I loved getting to perform in front of my friends and family.
Quinn (Y6) - It was so much fun competing on the stage. The lights were so bright that it felt like a spotlight was shining right on us. I gave it my all and I'm glad I did because we got invited to compete in Christchurch at nationals.
Betty (Y4) - It was scary going up onto the stage and having to say our name in front of everyone. Overall, it was fun doing the dance in front of my family and getting to do it with my friends. Everyone should try Jump Jam!
