He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata! He tangata! He tangata!
Today brings us to the end of another very busy and active term. I hope our team of fabulous teachers and support staff have a well-rested break in preparation for Term 4, and I wish to thank them for their commitment to making Kaikorai Primary School a very special place to be.
Next term, we will open the sandpit (we are still desperately seeking some donated toys) and the garden areas outside Room 13. The backfield is currently being prepared for seeding, and we are excited about this new green space that is being developed. Line marking will appear on the courts in the holidays, and we are excited about hopscotch, 4 square, a fitness trail and some other engaging activities on our courts.
We are excited about our Term 4 PBL unit of work. We will work with an artist from the Art Gallery to create art for our Kaikorai Primary School Art Exhibition, and all work on a collaborative mural. Ka mau te wehi!
Thank you to our tamariki for bringing our school to life. We appreciate all you do, your mahi, your enthusiasm, your kindness and for being great KAIK kids! Happy holidays to you!
Student teachers
Today, we farewell to our 4 Masters students and thank them for their efforts in R3, 5, 10, and 11 and wish them well in their teaching careers.
Farewell to Miss Clemenson from Rūma ono; thank you for your commitment to our school and the learners in your care—best wishes for the next stage of your teaching journey.
We also say farewell to Mr. Landrebe, who has been on placement in Rūma iwa since the beginning of the year. In fact, Mr. Landrebe was here on Gateway in Y13, and as a first-year student teacher in 2020, he is a familiar face around our school. Thank you, Campbell, for your efforts and energy, and best wishes to you for your quest for employment.
Term 4 reminders
*School hats are compulsory in term 4; please name these with a permanent marker. Hats are available from the school office if your child cannot find theirs from Term 1.
*The school grounds are not open until 8:30 a.m. If you need to drop your child off before that, they must be enrolled at Kelly Club.
*Any lost property (unnamed and unclaimed) from this term will be donated to the charity store in the holidays.
