Road Patrol

We would like to invite our current road patrollers and anyone else interested in road patrol to a meeting on Monday, February 19th, at 6:15 pm in the staffroom. We will discuss the roster, keeping our children safe and how to encourage more families to volunteer their time. We hope to see!

A huge thank you to our seven families that help with road patrol - please read below the reasons they help.

“I help with Road Patrol because I think it is important to show my children that even though we don't use that particular crossing, not everything is about them, and it is important to do something without expecting anything in return. I also like wishing the kids a "Good Morning".”

“My partner and I share the week now which makes it easier for us. I really enjoy welcoming the kids in the mornings, and getting lovely little responses back. It’s been really nice to build a nice relationship with the “regulars”, and lots of waves from the parents. The mornings take longer, but are pretty calm. Afternoons are short and sweet! Done before you know it, and my kids love the extra time to play while they wait"

“I volunteer for road patrol as I want to make sure the Kaik kids are safely getting across the road, as there are a lot of cars and kids can be hard to see. Since I’m dropping my kids off, or picking them up anyway, I can make it work in with my day, I just need to get there a bit earlier”

"I get a really warm feeling in my chest when  all the little people say good morning to me."
