Hello, Kia ora, Hallo, 你好 (Nǐ hǎo), Bula, ¡Hola! Kumusta, ជំរាបសួរ (Chomreabsuor), سلام (Salām), হ্যালো (Helo), Bonjour

At Kaikorai, we believe that every student's unique background and experiences enrich our learning environment. Through the support of the SENCO and classroom teachers, we ensure that every student receives the personalised attention and assistance they need to thrive academically and socially.

Our ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) programme is designed to meet the diverse needs of our students, providing language support tailored to their individual proficiency levels. Through a combination of engaging activities, interactive lessons, and cultural exchanges, we aim to empower our students to become confident communicators and global citizens.

We firmly believe that by fostering an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment, we can create a sense of belonging and mutual respect among all members of our school community. By embracing diversity, we not only celebrate our differences but also recognise the value that each individual brings to our collective learning journey.

Whānau support and encouragement play a crucial role in reinforcing the importance of cultural diversity and acceptance. We encourage you to engage with your child's learning experiences, participate in multicultural events, and celebrate the unique identities of our students.

In addition to our ESOL program, our Project-Based Learning (PBL) focus this term revolves around celebrating the cultures represented in our school community and exploring our driving question: "How can we celebrate and share the beautiful tapestry of cultures in our school community?" Through collaborative projects, hands-on activities, and interactive discussions, students have had the opportunity to explore and appreciate the customs, traditions, and languages of their peers. Please join us at our PBL Showcase on Tuesday 9 April from 2pm-4pm to celebrate the beautiful cultures that make Kaikorai so special.
