Kaikorai Valley College Sports Day

Kaikorai Valley College held its annual sports day on Wednesday, where it hosted pupils from all its contributing primary schools for a day of sports and fun.

The sports day was all about getting pupils to experience a wide range of different sports. There were many sports on offer and many that our students had never played before. Highlights of the day were lacrosse and non-stop cricket.

We especially thank our parent volunteers for the day. We appreciate you giving up your time to help us.

Draw Exploratorium with the Dunedin Public Art Gallery

Our Kererū classes will have in-class art lessons run by the Dunedin Public Art Gallery. These sessions run for 45 minutes to an hour and are designed to cultivate essential drawing skills. Each session includes 4 to 6 engaging abstract drawing activities aimed at building confidence, sparking creativity, sharpening observation skills, and fostering a deeper connection to the world around us. These activities are crafted to engage students' senses while nurturing sensitivity, connection, and awareness...and only requires a pencil and paper!

These workshops can enrich your classroom visual arts programme by incorporating fundamental drawing skills. They provide a solid foundation and equip students with key techniques to fuel their artistic expression and development. Participating in a Draw Exploratorium session promises to not only enhance your students' artistic abilities but also offer them a memorable and enriching experience.

WHERE IS MR P?

A story from when Mr P was away by Axton (R12)

When I walked into class, Mr. P. was missing. I thought he was playing for the Bulls, but then I heard a loud siren, and it said Mr. P had been captured by Godzilla!

The whole class was shocked. We all tried to find a way out of the school to find him, but the principal didn't let us because there was a different teacher in the room.

The reliever teacher was asleep, so we all went wild, and everyone tried to wake her up. When she woke up, she was confused. She was trying to stop everyone from escaping from school!
