He rā whatiwhati kō - A day of hard work
PBL
Our tamariki have been working extremely hard on some create amazing products to sell at our school fair. Working in mixed groups, students made bookmarks, butterfly snack bags, sherbet, and popsicle stick creations. It was fantastic to see how engaged students were to work in different groups, help, offer suggestions, and create their final products. Our next job is to create some posters to persuade others to buy our products.
Swimming
Our students have made some wonderful progress with their swimming over the last two weeks. They have shown their determination to focus and improve their skills in the pool, listening carefully to the instructors. We have two more sessions next week on Tuesday and Friday. This will be an opportunity for students to demonstrate all that they have learned during this term's swimming block. We would also like to thank all of our parent and grandparent helpers - we would not be able to do it without you!
Tirohanga
As a part of our Education Outside The Classroom (EOTC), classes in the middle syndicate will be having a day trip at Tirohanga Camp on the Tuesday 29th of October.
This will give us many opportunities to demonstrate the school's values and gives us plenty of real life learning opportunities across the curriculum. Activities are weather dependent but may include a tramp, confidence course, initiative course, bivouac building, technology challenges, and games.
Please note: Parent helpers bringing preschool children to Tirohanga is not appropriate, as it means we cannot include you in our safety ratios.
Important Information (a permission form will be sent out before the end of term with a confirmed cost).
Date: Tuesday 29th October
Leave school at 9:15 am and return by 2:55 pm.
Parent Help
We will need parent help to make this day a success by helping us to prepare equipment and to comply with guidelines.
