Swimming into week six...

Kia ora e te whānau,

Junior swimming has commenced but unfortunately our first session was cancelled due to snow. Swimming is a fun essential programme that introduces young children to water safety, basic swimming skills, and the joy of being in the water. Through structured lessons and playful activities, our students are learning how to float, kick, and build confidence in the water, all under the careful supervision of JC Swim School’s trained instructors. It has been wonderful to see a lot more confidence in the pool this term.

Over the last few weeks, Pīwakawaka Hapori has been busy designing, creating, and marketing products in preparation for our school fair. We have observed fabulous creativity, collaboration, planning and problem-solving. We started by identifying products that resonated with tamariki, our target consumers.  We engaged students in financial literacy and the design and creation process, fostering their skills in arts, crafts, and basic entrepreneurship. This hands-on approach enhanced their learning and brought a sense of ownership and pride toward our final products. Once the products were completed, we created advertising posters as our marketing strategy to generate excitement. Our posters highlight aspects of our products, or their uniqueness, to appeal to potential buyers. We are so excited and proud to have created something to sell, and we look forward to seeing you there!

Kā mihi,

Junior Teaching Team.
