The air was bristling with excitement, teams were ready, on your marks, get set, go!
On Thursday, 22nd August, we had 16 Year 5 and 6 students compete in the OMAthlon, a fast-paced team maths contest. We had two teams in the Year 6 competition, who were up first, and after 30 minutes of hard running and problem-solving, it was all over. Our teams achieved a top-10 placing with 7th place, as well as a 30th place out of 44 teams.
Next up was the Year 5 competition, and the excitement was at an all-time high with a Kaikorai team on the scoreboard from the start. Both teams were on the scoreboard with just two minutes to go when it was turned off. We anxiously awaited the results and were thrilled to find out that we had a fourth-place finish and that Seb, Betty, Toby, and Genevieve won the competition!
A big thank you to the parents who supported the teams and transported us to the event.
