On Thursday, August 1st, we held the Kaikorai Primary Cross Country event and it was an exceptional day for all our students. It was wonderful to see the entire school participating in this fun event. Our Kaik Kids had positive attitudes, gave their best effort, and showed excellent sportsmanship toward their peers.
The top placegetters from Years 4-6 were selected to compete in the Hills competition on Wednesday, the 7th of August. Kaikorai had 47 students compete in the event, proudly representing our school. Despite the challenging course, which included muddy terrain and slippery hills, our students gave their all and supported one another. A special mention to Bobby Houston-Lowe - 1st Year 4 Boys, Josie Kelly - 1st Year 4 Girls, Genevieve Hodgson - 1st Year 5 Girls and Anja Hargreaves - 3rd Year 5 Girls. The top 10 place-getters in the Year 5 and 6 categories will go on to compete in the Otago competition in September.
Thank you to teachers and whānau for making our school cross country and the Hills competition successful. Your support with organisation, marshalling, and encouraging runners was greatly appreciated.
