Nau mai hoki mai, welcome to Term 3

Welcome to our newest Kaik Kids, Olive, Hazel, Maria, Safiha, Zeeshan, and Ibrar. We are so happy you are here.

Kia ora Kaikorai whānau, welcome back to school and term 3. I hope your children had a healthy, restful and enjoyable break from school.

Illness still appears rife in our community, and our term two attendance data very much reflects this. 68% of our students regularly attended school (attending school 90% of the term). The main reasons for absences this term were medical 61% and taking holidays in school time 26%. Let's hope this term is more settled.

Room 13 upgrades are complete, and I am thrilled with the outcome. There is a stunning outdoor learning environment suitable for 5-year-olds and upgrades on heating, lighting, roofing, security, and wall coverings. I know Miss Dunn and the Room 13 learners will be excited to begin the term in their new space.

This term, we welcome Harry Eathorne and Alex Maffey to our learning support team and welcome back to Miss Dunn.

We are hosting our school fair this term. To make this event memorable and profitable, we need the full support of our community.

You have received the requests for donations, and we appreciate what you can offer and provide.

Your eldest child will bring home a raffle card with incredible prizes to sell this week. We ask for your assistance in selling raffle tickets within your networks. The raffle pack sent home will include all the necessary information.

I look forward to seeing you all on Monday as we begin Term 3.

As always, don't hesitate to get in touch if I can help in any way.

Ngā manaakitanga

Beth
